Eating CBD infused food is a great way to add CBD to your diet, helping you easily maintain optimal health on a daily basis.
How to add CBD to your favourite meals
CBD recipes, such as CBD butter, are a great starting point for introducing CBD into your daily routine, because once made, you can use the CBD butter in any number of foods – pancakes, toast, brownies, batter, cheese sauce, even the humble sandwich.
Why CBD butter?
CBD is naturally a fat-soluble cannabinoid. This means that when CBD breaks down naturally, it is stored in fat. Therefore any natural oil or fat is a great carrier for CBD. This makes CBD infused butter a great way to help your body absorb the cannabidiol into your blood stream, so it can more easily interact with your body’s naturally occurring endocannabinoid system and further encourage balance and wellness. You can also try adding CBD to coconut oil which has an even greater ratio of saturated fat.
Slow and Steady
Use unsalted butter that has been left out in room temperature for 1-2 hours before you start. You can use any strength CBD oil. We recommend our Amma Life’s 10% CBD Oil, as it rich with the goodness of chlorophyll and terpenes and will give the butter a distinct colour when finished. Slowly stir the CBD oil and allow it to blend over 2-3 hours. This will ensure the CBD is fully infused into the butter and avoid the risk of burning and damaging the cannabinoids in the process.
Making CDB Butter
Here's what you'll need:
2ml (20 drops) CBD oil
165g unsalted dairy butter (or a high-fat dairy free option)
330ml of filtered water
The Process
Chop the butter into small pieces and place in a medium sized saucepan.
Add the CBD oil and water to the mix and cook on a low heat for approx. 2 hours
Stir every 15-30 minutes. Stay nearby to keep an eye on the liquid and ensure that the heat is a suitable gentle and low level. We recommend using the lowest setting on a small hob so that an even and low heat is used for this process.Once the water has boiled off and the mixture looks dense, remove from the heat, place in an airtight container and allow to cool for 2 hours. It is best to place the butter in the fridge for cooling.
